Con la luz de otro (With the light of another) is a sculptural object that, from the demystification of the symbol, reflects on the category of hero and its role in the collective memory of society. The morphology of the work, consisting of a synthetic interpretation of the bust conceived as a luminary, questions the phenomenon of sociocultural construction of the hero and its functionality as a tool of indoctrination. The depersonalization of the bust based on the lack of its face, replaced by the light that flows from the torso, contributes to the interpretation of the hero -in a generic sense- as a guiding light; hierarchical paradigm that establishes a scale of values intended to meet society’s need for references.
